Spandan 2018: Football Match held between The International Boarding Schools in Mumbai

Day1 - Football The first day of football at Spandan 2018 in the Cathedral Vidya School, Lonavala was fitting for an event of this caliber. It started at nine in the morning with the Under 18 teams of Cathedral Vidya School Lonavala and Oberoi International School, Goregaon facing off against each other. The ball flew from one side to the other, only to be met with a wall of defensive players. Both sides showed great skill in their game. Neither team was better than the other, and the match ended in 1 – 1 tie. The Cathedral Vidya School, an IB world school Pune scored at the last minute to steal a stalemate from the jaws of defeat. Each match was played with similar gusto. Every player in every team showed their passion in smashing the ball from one goalpost to the other. The chants of every school echoed in the hills. SPANDAN 2018: SWIMMING

For myself, I have won every race I’ve been in.” – Ian Thorpe The schools participating were Cathedral Vidya School , Kohinoor American School, Euro School Wakad ,B.D. Sonami ,B.K. Birla and Universal World College. The style for the day was freestyle. Boys under 19, 50 metre Moon lead the match and took over. The public screamed “Moon! Moon!” and their screams were justified, as Moon from CVSL, the best boarding school near Navi Mumbai won the first heat. The second heat left everyone confused, as to who would win. Everyone had very high hopes from their swimmers, but Oberoi International School took the lead and showed us what they’ve got in the second heat. NEWS SPANDAN 2018: Abhivyakti - The Inter School Art Competition Themed ‘Glimpses of SPANDAN’

The Abhivyakti commenced with four schools displaying their perception of #Spandan2018CVSL as a whole, via their surreal paintings. The schools were given pictures of various events and happenings of Spandan and were left with their creativity flowing through their minds for transforming their imagination into reality. The intensity of heat and the scorching sun did not burn the spirits of the artists. From bright to dark shades, the participants did not fail to brighten our days. While some participants delineated football, others portrayed Spandan as the overwhelming Gen-X fashion show. With palms painted green and to shirt with strokes of paint, the participants strived to achieve perfection. The teachers cheered the little ones on, along with seniors who had nothing in their minds but to make their school win. At the end, everybody won with flying colours (pun intended).
